“He is the head of the body, the Church.” I think this shows what we are celebrating today as Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, that he is in charge of everything. He is the ruler; he is the person who should be in charge of our lives. Christ Jesus is our God and Lord over everything, but he will not force it, like most kings. He will allow us to do anything we want. If we want to follow him, he will allow it. If we want not to follow, he will allow it. But know and understand that if we choose to follow him, he will make our lives better and helps to get to Heaven.
For most kings and really any nations, there are rules that we are all to follow, but what does Jesus give us? Does he give us rules? Or what? He gives us commandments. So, what is the difference between rules and commandments? The way that I like to think of it is that commandments are guidelines that if you want to follow Christ the King and get to Heaven, then do this. It is not like we will get thrown into jail if we do not follow the commandments; we just might not get to Heaven, but God gives us the choice.
Too often people think that the Church has too many rules, but they are not technically rules; there are if you want to get to Heaven, then follow the commandments, but nothing is going to stop or force you to follow, and nothing will happen in this life if you do not follow. They are if you want to get to Heaven, here is the path for you to follow. Christ is offering salvation.
I, of course, would want everyone to follow Christ as best as you can. I want everyone to get to Heaven and be with God one day, but the choice is yours. Try to follow him every single day. Do your best to not sin; we all know what we need to do to not sin, but sometimes it is harder than others, especially during the holiday season, where we celebrate more with our families, and that is where there can be tension. How can you not be drawn into the tension or drama or just sin when we get around family? Because really, we are all the cause of bringing peace or not; with our words or actions, we can cause everyone to not be at peaceful. I would hope that none of us would want to bring the tension intentionally, but with what we say and do, we can bring that. So please choose peace this holiday season by really just not saying anything. Christ is offering us peace in our lives, and how can we bring that about with the people around us? Christ is offering peace.
From what I have found, is that people allow Christ to be their head; they are happier. They are just content with their lives because Christ is taking care of everything. We do not have to worry about the things that we usually worry about. Let Christ take care of it for you. Christ is offering happiness.
This is what Christ the King is offering us: salvation, peace, and happiness. And many more things. He is offering us a better and easier life if we allow him to be the head of our body. He is offering us everything, but the choice is ours; will we allow Christ to rule our lives or not? Will we follow Christ or not? He will allow us to do anything that we want, and he will not stop us, but if we want to get to Heaven, then come and follow Jesus Christ the King.
